Seed distribution campaign was organised at Thiruvilwamala,Pazhayannur and Wadakkancherry villages. Black gram vaiety Vamban -8
short duration, high yielding variety seeds were distributed to the Secretary , Neelichira Padasekhram, Pazhayannur, The Secretary,
Parakadavu Padasekharam,Thiruvilwamala and the Secretary, Enkekad Padasekharam, Wadakkancherry. Class on cultivation practices
were also given to the members of Padasekharams.
One day webinar on ‘Cultivation aspects of Pulses’ was also organised from 2.30 p.m to 4.30 p.m. The webinar was led by Dr. C. George
Thomas, Chairman, Kerala State Biodiversity Board. In the welcome speech Dr. Suma Nair, Programme Coordinator, Krishi Vigyan
Kendra, Thrissur has narrated the importance of pulses in our diet and its cultivation. Detailed cultivation aspects of major pulses
including seed rate, sowing, manuring, harvesting etc in detail by the resource person were explained. Details of all the major pulses
like Red gram, Green gram, Cowpea, Black gram, Horse gram etc. were covered. Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr. Aparna
